After leasing a unit using a voucher, participants must adhere to program requirements.  The head of household for each family must attend an annual recertification meeting that is scheduled by letter.  The recertification meeting is used to verify current income and household composition as well as to brief participants of any program changes.
It is important for participants to remember that all changes in income of $100 per month or more must be reported within 10 business days.  All changes in family composition must be reported immediately.  Except for newborn’s, a new person cannot move into a household unless approved by the BVCOG.

To report any changes in family income or family composition, use the Request for Interim Change form.

IMPORTANT: You have 10 days to report any change in status without penalty

PARTICIPANT MOVES
Participants may move anywhere within BVCOG’s jurisdiction or to areas outside of BVCOG’s jurisdiction where there is another housing authority that administers the housing choice voucher program.

To request a move within BVCOG’s jurisdiction, complete a Move Packet at least 60 days before you want to move and submit it to your case manager.  The case manager will notify you if you are approved to move.

If you wish to move (port) to another housing authority, contact your case manager in order to complete all necessary procedures.  If a family moved into the BVCOG jurisdiction in order to receive housing assistance, they must live in the jurisdiction for at least 12 consecutive months before being eligible to move to another housing authority’s jurisdiction.

To report any changes in family income or family composition, use the Request for Interim Change form.
